The Aster Donovan Foundation was founded in 2004 as an means to stay connected to our sister and daughter, who we lost in November of that year. Aster lived in and loved Austin, and as a result, the foundation focuses its efforts on those things which benefit the Austin community.

The Foundation derives some of its inspiration from Wendell Berry, Dave Eggers, the Dalai Lama and the Dallas Mavericks. We believe in providing support to those things worth supporting whenever possible, as well as the bonds of community, the love of animals, the goodness of people, and all other things that make the world beautiful. The Aster Donovan Foundation chooses to be joyful though it has considered all the facts.
